The Pundit Panel (Week 20): Legion @ Sporting Kansas City II

Will the points get swoped?

Doubtless none of the panel will be upset to have completely failed to predict the result of the Louisville game last Saturday. The pessimism was apparently unfounded. What will the driving emotion be as the Legion heads out on an extended road trip?

Prediction Win 3-0 Win 3-0 Win 3-1 Win 3-1
SKC II have just 3 wins all season, and none since July 10. That’s pretty much all you need to know about them.

The Legion, on the other hand, has a massive opportunity to retake the divisional lead despite being on the road 3 straight games. However, they will have to do it without Junior Flemmings for at least the first 2 (and how did we manage not to have Neco Brett called up?).

After the emotional roller-coaster of the past week, the Three Sparks should be on a high and ready for action. Look for a lop-sided win.

Sporting KC seem to be making it habit to not win games. You have to go all the way back to July 10th for their last win, 1-0 against ATL 2. Meanwhile, Birmingham Legion continue to make scoring goals a habit of theirs. Not much more than the venue will change since these two last met in a 4-2 Legion win at home. This one goes to the good guys. Birmingham Legion 3 – 0 Sporting KC II. As Legion start their string of away days, the first game is the one that should be the “gimme” points. My concern is possibly overtweaking the formation, but I think the most likely situation is that the 3 Sparks play a heavily rotated side as we hit the most important portion of our schedule.

I expect three points out of this match and anything less than domination is a disappointment.

3-1 Legion

Legion will travel to Children’s Mercy Park without Junior Flemmings who is on international duty, but I have a feeling that won’t matter too much. Legion are stronger on paper and on the pitch. 3-1 Legion win.
Season to Date 9/40 10/40 14/40 12/40
