The Football Forge Power Rankings: Week 19A lot of movement this week
Some great long-distance goals this week, but results generally meant that both conferences are looking much tighter than they were just a couple of weeks ago. And who would have thought FC Tulsa would have the league’s longest win streak at 4 games?
Rank | Team | Previous | Change | Record | Forge Factor | Note |
| San Antonio | 3 | 2 | 9-3-7 | 25.712 | San Antonio got two long-range golazos from Rida Zouhir to beat El Paso Locomotive 2-1 in a very close game. Just 1 point behind Sacramento in the West. |
| San Diego Loyal | 11 | 9 | 8-5-6 | 22.273 | The Loyal needed just 40 seconds for the game-winner and cruised to an embarrassing 5-0 win against 10 men for 75 minutes in Colorado Springs. |
| Rio Grande Valley Toros | 2 | -1 | 5-5-9 | 18.982 | The Toros were the better team but couldn’t make the lead hold up. ceding in the 88th minute to tie El Paso 1-1. No losses in the last 7 games though. |
| Pittsburgh Riverhounds | 6 | 2 | 10-2-8 | 18.839 | A huge week: 2 clean sheets and 6 points (1-0 over Louisville and 2-0 over Detroit). 13 games unbeaten, 5 points clear at the top of the East, best PPG in the league. |
| Phoenix Rising | 4 | -1 | 6-5-7 | 17.521 | Phoenix Rising were on a bye this week. |
| Tampa Bay Rowdies | 1 | -5 | 10-5-4 | 16.970 | The post-Collins era started poorly and an 11-game unbeaten streak ended as the Rowdies lost 0-1 in Birmingham. Only 5 shots, 2 on goal and none inside the 18. |
| Orange County | 9 | 2 | 7-9-4 | 16.644 | Orange County’s 3-1 win in Loudoun was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests; they were gifted a PK and a bad clearance by Dane Jacomen. Still, 4 wins in the last 5. |
| FC Tulsa | 17 | 9 | 6-7-7 | 15.762 | Tulsa got a long-range banger from Marcus Epps to beat Miami 1-0 and then a late goal from Phillip Goodrum to beat Hartford 3-2 in a tough 2-game home stand. |
| New Mexico United | 5 | -4 | 7-7-4 | 15.586 | New Mexico United were on a bye this week. |
| Sacramento Republic | 8 | -2 | 9-2-8 | 12.663 | Who else but Russell Cicerone? He scores again in the tight 1-1 draw with Memphis. 3 straight draws but they are clinging to the Western Conference lead. |
| Louisville City | 10 | -1 | 8-5-5 | 12.369 | Lou City managed just 1 shot on goal in the 0-1 home loss to Pittsburgh. Detroit and Birmingham this week as they need points in a tight Eastern race. |
| Charleston Battery | 12 | 0 | 9-5-6 | 11.911 | The Battery had to come from behind twice on the road this week, tying 1-1 in Indianapolis and then Miami. They left it late in both games but got the job done. |
| Birmingham Legion | 14 | 1 | 8-8-2 | 11.500 | For the second time this season the Legion shut the Rowdies out on the way to an impressive 1-0 win. Up next #11 Louisville, then #12 Charleston in 2 key games. |
| Colorado Springs Switchbacks | 7 | -7 | 9-10-1 | 10.697 | Christian Herrera allowed an easy goal 40 seconds in and another 8 minutes later. 6 minutes after that Romario Williams was sent off. Downhill from there; 0-5 at home to San Diego. |
| Oakland Roots | 19 | 4 | 7-6-6 | 9.457 | Oakland were likely denied a goal on an iffy offside call in the otherwise even 1-1 draw with Memphis 901. They were then denied another goal but ended winners 3-1 over Monterey Bay. |
| Indy Eleven | 15 | -1 | 5-7-6 | 8.748 | Indy led the Battery in a close and entertaining game before giving up the tying goal. They survived a Robby Dambrot red card to finish 1-1 against Charleston. |
| The Miami FC | 18 | 1 | 3-9-8 | 7.347 | Miami played a close match in Tulsa but lost 0-1 and then dominated Charleston for 96 minutes before giving up a tying goal in a 1-1 result at home. |
| El Paso Locomotive | 13 | -5 | 9-5-5 | 7.315 | The Locomotive played San Antonio to a tough 1-2 loss and needed a late Aaron Gomez goal to tie RGV 1-1. No wins in the last 5 games but still 3rd in the West. |
| Las Vegas Lights | 16 | -3 | 1-9-8 | 5.799 | Las Vegas Lights were on a bye this week. |
| Memphis 901 | 21 | 1 | 8-4-6 | 3.980 | Memphis’ trip to California ended in two close 1-1 draws with Oakland and Sacramento. No wins in the last 4 games and they have been outscored 12-2. |
| Loudoun United | 23 | 2 | 6-14-2 | 2.089 | Loudoun gave up a 50-yard goal, tied it on a PK and immediately gave up a red card in a bizarre 1-1 game in Detroit, then gave up a PK and another red card losing 1-3 to Orange County. |
| Detroit City | 20 | -2 | 4-11-5 | 0.999 | Dario Suarez’ 50-yard goal will be up for Goal of the Week, but didn’t stand up in the 1-1 draw with Loudoun. Then they were easily handled by Pittsburgh, losing 0-2. 2 points in the last 6 games. |
| Monterey Bay Union | 22 | -1 | 7-7-6 | -1.088 | The Union got no assist from the fog as they went down 1-3 to Oakland in a crucial Western Conference battle. Just 1 point from the last 4 games. |
| Hartford Athletic | 24 | 0 | 2-13-4 | -1.681 | Hartford were seconds from seeing their 5-game losing streak end only to let Phillip Goodrum get a last gasp winner in the 2-3 loss in Tulsa. |
