The Pundit Panel (Week 22): Legion v. OKC Energy

Will it rain goals, or will it just rain?

Simon got the 1-1 score on the nose last week. No one else expected any kind of result for the Legion. This week sees the more, er, colorful Oklahoma side come back to the Magic City for their second trip this season. That’s assuming the weather will cooperate, of course. If it does, here’s what the panel expect:

John Fuller Jacob Harris Kaylor Hodges Simon Iles
Prediction Win 2-0 Win 2-1 Win 2-1
Louisville City had a change in management early this season. It didn’t change anything on the pitch. OKC Energy also had a change in management, dumping head coach John Pascarella in mid-June, It changed everything. Under interim coach Leigh Veidman they are 7-4-5, including a 1-1 draw with Lou City last weekend.

Still, that was against a wounded team, and the Legion’s own wounds are healing. Look for the Three Sparks to continue to build on the rebound started in Tulsa.

OKC has proved to be a formidable opponent over the last month or so, taking points from the likes of Louisville City, granted those matches at home. The Legion look to right the ship after deciding that baseball is not our favorite sport. With the return of the Brazilian Magician, the Legion are at least looking at having a little more rotation in the side to get Bruno some real match minutes under the belt.

I believe that the talent will prevail, if the match isn’t cancelled, of course. Legion win 2-1.

The Legion rebounded decently enough against Tulsa on the road, showing some fight to come back from 1-0 down to get a deserved point. OKC Energy have been in better form than they were when we last played them, having achieved 2 draws with Louisville and 2 wins in their last 5 matches… but, in true USL fashion, were randomly spanked by SKCII a couple of weeks ago. Legion should have enough to beat them but I’m not expecting an easy ride for the 3 Sparks. 2-1 Legion. Prop bet: JJ Williams to pop up with a late winner, again.
Season to Date 10/46 11/46 15/46 15/46
