Despite Middlesbrough having much of the early play, the Blues were able to hold the line. Two second half goals in three minutes by Marc Roberts and Scott Hogan then sealed the win.

Overall, Birmingham had just 45% possession and were outshot 11-8, but Boro had only 2 on target, and City made the most of two of its three chances.

The win gives the Blues their first back-to-back victories in the Championship this season. Boro drop to 14th with the loss and Birmingham rises to 17th pending Reading’s game against Bournemouth this afternoon.
